Today, October 31, a group of masked members of Al Ahrar, a Hamas-affiliated group that started in 2007, gave a pop-up press conference on a busy sidewalk in downtown Gaza City. The five young men armed with Kalashnikovs seemed to appear, like phantoms, from nowhere. They read a prepared statement condemning Israel to a small cluster of cameras and barely amused children before posing for a few photos. And like that, they were gone. The camera crews packed up, the kids dispersed, and everyone went back to complaining about the constant, high-pitched buzzing of Israeli drones overhead.
Gilad Shalit released from Hamas custody.
Looking rather frail might I add..
Al Arabiya is reporting the near imminate release of Sgt. Gilad Shalit in a prisioner swap deal with Hamas. If you don’t know this lad has spent 1/5th of his life as a POW probably in Gaza.
What was the point you were trying to make with "areas occupied by Israel since 1967" jpg ?
Well… It’s a weather map of United States found in the Milwaukee Sentinel in 1977. I’m sure you know that the description is erroneous. The photo is actually from the bathroom stall at the Newseum.
And I wasn’t trying to make any point. But apparently the #Israel tag is serious business.
Sharks Wary of Drunk Serbs
Dragan Stevic of Serbia is the new Egyptian hero who killed a large shark which had previously terrorized numerous tourists (injured 4 and killed 1) at the famous Egyptian resort Sarm El Sheikh.
The Serbian hero was too drunk to remember what had happened, though one of his friends who witnessed the incident explained it all for the Belgrade based media. Dragan Stevic was dubbed by the Egyptian media as “Shark El Sheikh” and thanked him for saving their tourist season.
“Dragan climbed on the jumping board, told me to hold his beer and simply ran to jump. There was no time for me to react or to try to stop him, he just went for it” says Milovan.“Dragan jumped high and plunged down to the sea, but didn’t make as much splash as we thought he would”, explained Milovan.
The reason could be because Dragan Stevic ended up jumping straight on the shark which was lurking near the beach, probably looking for its next victim. Dragan had nailed it right in the head, killing it instantly. The Egyptian police found the shark washed out on the beach that morning.
Dragan was able to swim to the shore and told his friends he had twisted his ankle, telling them the water was not that soft.
The water is soft buddy, you just landed on a shark. At the moment, the fearless hero is in a hospital recovering from alcohol poisoning.
I’m not sure if this article is a level or not. But in other news… the Governor of the region where the shark attacks occurred dismissed ideas that the attacks were the work on Israeli intelligence agency, Mossad.

Conspiracy Watch:
I love conspiracy theories. I usually believe one out of a hundred, but I love reading about them and hearing about them from those in tin-foil hats. Here are my current top five in the news:
- Israeli submarines sank the Cheonan (South Korean Naval ship) [I hadn’t heard about this at all but it came up on an Al-Jaz comments board]
- Fabian Cancellara used a bike with a small motor for Paris-Roubaix and Tour of Flanders’ victories
- Environmental Activists sabotaged Deepwater Horizon to prevent additional off-shore drilling
- North Korea mini-sub used in a suicide attack on Deepwater Horizon
- Rima Fakih, 2010 Miss USA winner is a Hezbollah agent.
