Off The Radar: Brendan Howey Bonus DH (by Mike Zinger)

I don’t think I’ve ever wanted to ride a doubleboinger as much as I do now after watching that video.

Bollocks to heart rate monitors, power meters and peak lactate expiratory wattage analysis. I’ll have a pint.

I feel really late to the party but shit, http://rockrouleur.tumblr.com is absolutely killing it right now.

Irish Stew (with Guinness) is on the burner… just spent the last 20 minutes putting on every bit of cycling kit I have. Perfect weather for some base miles. I’m going to be channeling thoughts of the Tour Down Under..

This may be my favorite moment in all of cycling.
Heinrich Haussler winning Stage 9 Stage 13 of the 2009 Tour de France by nearly seven minutes.
When ever I need motivation or am a bit bummed out, I put this stage on and watch him just turn himself inside out.

Another lovely bike hit and run in Columbus Saturday night.
Drunk old man (they got him a few hours later) plows into a group of kids on bikes. Luckily only a few minor injuries (one broken collarbone being the worst of it).
At the end of the day you can only do so much.

The first couple hours on the rollers every winter are always the hardest. Then monotony gives way to a flow, a sense of fluidity that comes with every pedal stroke. That’s when you know it’s time to build the foundation for next year’s victories.
