$700k to each family if you want to kill someone in Pakistan. Not a bad deal.
Honestly all jokes aside, I’m glad the US didn’t hang this guy out to dry like it looked like initially when they refused his CIA connections. I want to make some comment here about how “ironically we still refuse to negotiate with terrorists” and make some ISI-Taliban-Al Qaeda reference but I think I’ll take a pass.

This is actually really sick. I’ve had very lengthy email conversations about this whole thing. It’s so surprising that a 4-Star who prides himself on being a military man, would talk this much shit in front of a journo, and let his subordinates do the same. Dude should know better.
What I got from the article is the real tragedy isn’t what Gen McChrystal said but how we’ve really bungled up AfPak in the last 9 years.
Dear C. Christine Fair,
If you’re ever in Columbus, OH please send me an email. I would love to buy you a drank. Your article in Contemporary South Asia entitled “The educated militants of Pakistan: implications for Pakistani’s domestic security” gave me a boner. I’m serious. I needed a new set of pants when you said “With respect to its policy of employing these militants, analysts have long said that ‘Pakistan is riding the tiger’—the implication being it will be difficult for Pakistan to disembark from this dangerous policy without dire consequences.” After I read that I ran around the library giving everyone high-fives. But thank you for saving my paper. I feel like I owe you something. So give me a shout. I’m serious. Lemme hit it.
